Sales Careers Driving Growth for Sodexo

"As a sales executive, it's our role to bring on new clients," explains Antoinette Ferris, Director, Business Development, Sodexo Business & Industry Solutions/SodexoMAGIC. "I consider myself the first face of Sodexo, working with brand new clients who do not know who we are. Even if they are a referral, I work to help them understand who we are and learn who they are, so we can customize a solution to meet their needs."

Meeting client needs and supporting our customers through collaborative relationships is at the heart of every aspect of Sodexo's business. We seek to uncover what's important to our customers and the needs of their business so that we can tailor solutions that will impact their bottom line. For example, if we can improve their customer ratings or employee satisfaction and engagement by providing services to support their core business, we contribute to their overall success.

"Because of this, it's important for us to really understand the customer and their needs, to have a passion for the customer and the deliverables we can offer, and to possess considerable experience in customer service," said Ferris. "And, given the breadth of Sodexo's business, sales executives at our company also need to have a multi-service background with an understanding of hard and soft services, such as managing a capital equipment plant at a corporate site versus janitorial services."

To be successful in a Sodexo sales career, you must be self-directed with a strong work ethic and have the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously. Excellent communication and negotiating skills, including collaborating with the C-Suite, are extremely important.

Compensation packages are highly rewarding and include a market-leading commission plan directly tied to the individuals' success and ability to meet and exceed sales goals. Successful Sales Executives are also positioned for a wide range of career growth opportunities, such as a Senior Sales Director or a Vice President of Operations.
